BEHIND THE DESIGN:
Harry and the adventures he embarked on are a cornerstone to many of our childhood and teenage years. Many of us grew up with Harry as he fought off trolls, dementors, destroyed Horcruxes, battled Lord Voldemort, even as he was growing as a person. When we decided to create our first Harry design, we knew that we wanted to create a design to pay tribute to the trials and triumph of Harry and his friends that taught us that we should never apologize for being who we are.
Starting from Harry's wand at the top, we see his signature lightening bolt scar and his glasses, the sorting hat which set the tone for Harry's life at Hogwarts and even aided him later, Hermine's time-turner which they used to "save more than one life", the Deathly Hallows symbol which dominates legends and wizard folklore, as well as the first snitch Harry caught that Dumbledore later left for Harry with a secret inside. Harry's Firebolt broomstick, which aided in many quidditch matches and adventures, hangs on the word "Manged". The iconic Hogwart's acceptance letter that started, the Tri-Wizard Tournament Cup, and Tom Riddle's Diary with a basilisk fang stuck inside also appear in the design. Sprinkled throughout are stars and footprints of the Marauder's map, adding to the whimsical nature of the design. "Mischief Manged", appears in the center. This phrase used to clear the Marauder's Map and therefore hide it's magical capabilities from the unknowing. Underneath, "I solemnly swear I am up to no good", known to us as the phrase that unlocks the magic of the Marauder's Map, appears on the same banner as the map which Harry was able to use many times in the books to help solve the mysteries of the Wizarding World.
For those who dreamed of receiving their Hogwarts letter, to the biggest wizard fans, even for those who simply enjoy drinking Butterbeer at Universal Studios, this design has essential elements of the classic story that good will always overcome evil, as long as we have the courage to stand up for what we believe is right.
